Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics

  • Works to define business model for scheduling and execution of customer deliverables while planning for additional work in the sales pipeline
  • Requires coordination for resource allocation with the Director of Federal Operations
  • Requires coordination with Commercial Business development for all requirements, commercial quotes, and resource allocation and production/deliverable time lines
  • Requires active participation in sales process (meeting with potential customers, demonstrating capabilities, creating persuasive proposals, building proof of concept solutions, creating marketing materials, working booths at trade shows, travel to customer sites in the US and potentially worldwide)
  • Leads the implementation of software development, data warehousing, and reporting solutions while planning for risk and growth
  • Evaluates and identifies appropriate technology BI platforms (including cloud technologies and the deployment stack) for delivering the company s services
  • Establishes a governance process that meets government, customer, and company expectations for customer information privacy
  • Contributes to and ensures compliance with the company s software development methodology. Promulgates coding conventions and documentation standards. Review current best practices for the selected web framework and establish the initial architecture for the application. Conducts code reviews and specification conformance testing as defined by the selected software development methodology. Ensures that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization
  • Leads the recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all development staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements. Establishes standards of performance and monitor conformance for staff (through performance review) and vendors (through service level agreements).
  • Establishes and supervises the software development process, setting short-term objectives and assessing progress as defined by the selected software development methodology. Establishes and supervises a quality assurance process, including integration and system testing. Reviews and approves proposed development releases and manage the release process

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Qualifications
:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 10 years software development experience or 5 to 10 years data warehousing and report/dashboard development experience
  • 5+ years staff management experience
  • 3+ years technical sales experience
  • 3+ years experience with C#, T-SQL, Start Schema design, Kimball Methodology, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, and DAX or data integration
  • 1+ year experience preferred with Azure, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure VMs
  • Demonstrated understanding of software development methodologies, specifically Agile Scrum
  • Proven experience in staff management in a dynamic development organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and facilitation skills
  • Strong focus on creating high quality deliverables
  • Experience in standards development and governance
  • Focus on continual process improvement

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
